Once more I see the deadlines I set for myself come and go… sigh. I really don’t know what to say about it at this point, it’s been over a month. Anyway, the bass for the track has been done for several weeks by now, and the track has already been uploaded to my album on bandcamp, along with the next one, RH-19, or Nylon Blue as it seemed appropriate to call it.

What changed? Slowed down the track a little, which kinda funks up the guitar recording in a fun way so not doing it over, but more importantly it improves the overall feel of the song while giving Lucy’s bass plenty of space to shine. Check it out:

I probably won’t be making another video for it, unless I end up doing a live recording of the guitars and/or drums part. Which is what I’m currently practicing for with Nylon Blue, études #19. That one is definitely coming before year’s end, preferably much sooner than that, since I’m also pretty much done writing all the instruments for #20. #20 will have more of a classical feel to it, mostly a sort of classical guitar interlude between #19 and #21, of which it shares some themes and progressions. #21 returns to the electric guitar, and as of writing this, only consists of the main guitar part and a couple of ideas for the bass.

So, over the next week or so, I’m hoping to get a good video recording of #19 on both guitars and drums (not both at the same time) so I can edit a nice video for the channel, in which through the magic of editing I will be playing both at the same time. That’s the main reason I haven’t posted sooner this time: Nylon Blue the track is ready, and I wanted to share that here, but I was going for a live playthrough of me and drums and guitar for the dedicated post on it. This obviously got delayed. Also, now that all those blisters on my fingers and thumb are healed up enough (I really wanted to mention at some point how I haven’t played or practiced any classical guitar over these past five or so years, so yeah), I’ll re-endeavor to record the classical guitar parts for #20 and finish that track up, so that I can focus on #21.

If I include #17, which I like a lot but isn’t really shareable in its current state and requires again a lot of work, that’s 5 tracks now over the past few month. And their quality is admittedly much better than what I averaged in the past. Also, considering I’ve been writing for and playing four instruments now too, well, that kinda cheers me up a little.
